Rock Climbing and Hiking with Aunt Dani

Aunt Dani is the best! She took the girls rock climbing while we squeezed in a Costco run right before the Ellingson Reunion. She just loves her nieces and nephews so much and it's fun to see her engage and play with them. They even met JD and Beckham at the rockfall so they could climb too! 

Dani also took Charley on her first overnight backpack hike. They hiked up to Lake Mary and Charley absolutely loved it! We really weren't sure how Charley would do since she is a good walker but has never really hiked, but Dani said she did awesome and just took it all in. They had a great time together! 

From Aunt Dani: I absolutely loved backpacking into Lake Mary with Charley! While hiking we admired beautiful wild flowers. Charley was really hoping to see a moose, and joked a couple times saying Dani look there’s a moose. After hiking 2 miles to the lake we set up camp. It started sprinkling just after we set up our tent. We ate pizza inside and played card games. After the rain stopped we explored around our site. When we woke up the next day there was water under our sleeping pads and we realized that during the night charleys lemonade tipped over. Haha. Luckily we were dry. She really wanted a camp fire so we made a early morning fire and burnt sticks. She was so fun to hike and camp with! I loved her excitement for adventure. She was strong and didn’t complain too much about being tired. She was so easy going, and fun. I can’t wait for our next adventure!
