I had a fun birthday celebrating it with my sweet girls and Spencer. Spencer made my favorite Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp and I opened a cute shirt from my sisters. That night, we got a sitter and rode citibikes over the Brooklyn Bridge to get some dinner. We wanted to accomplish a few things with the night out. We knew it would be one of our last before moving and we wanted to do a dinner-hop like we like to do and also ride citibikes since we do that for our date nights! So we combined everything into one night and it was the best night ever! It down-poured on us right as we were biking over the Brooklyn Bridge and we both just had to laugh. We joked that Brooklyn is really kicking us out with it's no-nonsense, no-sympathy attitude. We had fun with it and just laughed and yelled as we biked in the downpour over the Bridge. It was a beautiful night. We went to two really yummy taco places, one called the Breakroom. Since we were soaked from the rain, we took an Uber home and called it a night.
Our house is a mess right now! We are packing box after box getting ready to move. It is so bittersweet and sad for me to pack up our Brooklyn apartment. This is HOME. This is where I have raised my children. This is where I have become Brooklyn tough, served people, made lasting best friends with people, ran to the park everyday, walked everywhere possible and taken the trains multiple times a week. I have absolutely loved my time here in Brooklyn and will always remember it with fondness and love. More on this later..:)
Bergen's hair is SO long! It's beautiful and I can't believe how fast it is growing. Before we moved, we went to the hair salon and got a cut for her before school started. Before we cut it, I lined the girls up for a "hair" picture. SO cute!
We also did one last trip to the Bronx Zoo and it was a beautiful day! The girls loved it and all had their specific animals they wanted to see. Charley wanted to see the flamingos and lions. Bergen, the tiger and gorilla and Lenny wanted to see the Brown Bear.
