We had our town Memorial Day Parade and it was so fun to watch! Charley walked in it with her Girl Scout Troop and Spencer rode his bike with Jonny on the back up Main street to meet Bergen and Lenny and I to watch the parade. It was super fun supporting our small town and seeing everyone participate! We also went upstate to the Lambsons lakehouse to spend the day with them. They have a really neat piece of land right next to a small lake so we kayaked tons and then went back to their house and had a yummy dinner and did their zipline and roasted marshmallows. It was a fun day! We also had some fun visitors this month! Gramma B and Bart came to visit! We were able to do a lot of house projects with them! They helped us organize our garage which I had been wanting to do for a while. They also helped us make some cement stepping stones for each girl to go in our yard. My dad went to Home Depot a bunch of times to get the right supplies for the garage and then he went back and got another huge shelf for our basement to organize all our food storage. It was good to have them. We snuck away one night with them to the city to see Neil Diamond! It was a fun broadway and just showed his life as a musician. My parents really liked it and the songs he sang. The actor that played him did such a great job!
Lenny and Jonny did a fashion show for us one day and it was super cute! They would go upstairs and change into something and then come downstairs flashing huge smiles and looking so cute! They loved it! Bergen and Charley had their end of the year piano recital at Delsa's house. They have worked really hard this year despite wanting to quite and it was fun to hear them play their last pieces! They are both really good. Charley can sight read really well and picks up music really easy. Bergen is really picking up the notes and has a really good ear for the music she plays! Mark and DeAnn also visited us and Spencer was able to take them to Mystic, CT with the younger girls for the day. Charley and Bergen both had their end of year school music recitals too. Mark and DeAnn were able to listen to Charley's which was fun. Charley also played the recorder for some of her songs! Lenny won her read-a-ton at her school! She is such a good little reader! She has been working on sight words with me and can read some simple BOB books. She also just loves sitting and looking at the pictures in books. For her read-a-thon she would come home, start her timer and just sit and look at pictures books for an hour and sometimes hour and a half! It was really amazing to see! She was determined to win her read-a-thon and it showed! Jonny had her last day of preschool at the High School. Her teachers were so great and they gave us a notebook with pictures and her work that she did which was so fun to look through! She loved her little preschool and her teacher, Miss Annie!
Mother's Day was the same day Bergen's Birthday. We had a joint day! Spencer made us steak for dinner and made me a strawberry rhubarb crisp which was SOOO good! I made Bergen a rock-climbing cake since she loves rock-climbing. It was a very nice and relaxing day. I opened some presents and cards and felt loved by my family so much!!
