After Cape Cod, Spencer took Charley up to Boston to catch her flight for Grandparent week and Dani and I took the other girls to upstate New York where we surprised Dani with a nights stay in a yurt!! It was in Germantown on this cute little farm in the middle of nowhere! The farm was amazing and decked out with goats, geese, chickens, a community trough pool, and lots of little yurts and houses on it. It used to be an apple farm that they converted into a fun little community yurt stay. The owners were really gracious and nice and it was a fun night catching fireflies, exploring and finding a turtle and feeding the ducks and goats! The girls did great sleeping in the yurt and it was actually the best sleep I had gotten not in my own bed. The beds were super comfy and plush! We went into Woodstock the next day for a big and got some yummy smoothies and salads, window shopped some more and the girls each got a toy at the toy store. Then we made our way back home! It was a fun pitstop to stay in the yurt! We also ate at this amazing Italian place in Trivoli! It was some really good food in one of the neighboring towns!
Dani then stayed the next 4 days with us in Connecticut so one day we went into the city and explored Little Island that just opened up! It's a cool pier that is turned into an "island" with lots of landscape and food on it. We went to Washington Square Park where we hung out and let the girls play. We went to Chelsea Market and got a ton of food to share and then ended our day at Joe's Shanghai to let Dani try soup dumplings since she had never had them! We also rode citi bikes for a bit and had some Levain cookies!! So good!
