Bergen "adopted" a stuffy for over the summer to read to and she had taken that job VERY seriously. Chicky doesn't leave her sight. She sleeps with her every night, and brings her to the grocery store, church and anywhere else we go! She goes on bike rides and comes to dinner. It's pretty cute to see her read to chicky and really want to write down the minutes she reads everyday. The library also did a fun incentive for reading and the more books they read, they get to come into the library and chose prizes! All my girls have been all about it and lots of read so they can get a prize! It's fun to see their reading increase over the summer. Lenny has even enjoyed looking through the pictures and reading! And Bergen is reading chapter books now!! She will read whatever book Charley reads and it's amazing!!! She is such a good reader for entering 1st grade! There were some end of year celebrations for Charley. Her teacher did a cute awards ceremony and sent out the video afterward since parents couldn't attend this year. Charley also had a wonderful teacher this year! Mrs. Lacomis was organized and sweet and pushed Charley just the right amount. Charley really looked up to her teacher and did everything she knew the teacher would like. She is a pleaser for sure!
We went to Utah and while we were there Bergen went on a fun adventure with her Aunt Dani! Dani likes to go on overnight adventures with her nieces and nephews and so Dani took Bergen rock climbing in the morning, then grocery shopping to get all their food for the hike and overnight and then they hiked up to Lake Mary and stayed the night. They set up a hammock and played near the water. Dani said she was such a great hiking companion and loved stopping and looking at all the rocks and flowers. Dani said that once they got to the top and put up their tent that Dani she just wanted to relax but Bergen wanted to explore and look around and go down to the lake! She was active and busy and just ate up her time with Dani! Bergen loves those one-on-one times and I am glad she got to go with Dani and enjoy nature!
