Christmas in Winthrop Part 2

12.31.2016

One of my Mom's traditions is to buy all the men a Brooks Brother dress shirt. This year she bought them each two. It's a great tradition because Spencer is always needing nice shirts. We had to take our annual shirt pic with all of them in theirs! A few of these pics are out of order, but another gift my parents gave us all was a sleigh ride up at Sun Mountain! It was a perfect day for it and beautiful views. You take a sleigh ride through the hills and end up at the top to this tent where you serve you hot chocolate and tea. It was a fun time! Charley even got to steer the horses for a bit too which she loved. :) There is also a girl pic of us in our matching Mazama shirts and hat my dad got us that says, "Nothin but country" Love it!
Here was our schedule that we had hanging up on the door! Lots going on each day, which was so fun! We had family basketball one day which is a fun Christmas tradition that we do. We go to the High School gym and play a game. We had 7 on 7 starting out! It's so fun to have a big family for things like that! Spencer and I also did snow-bikes one day. Our friend has one and then we rented another from the bike shop. Megan and Jackson rented them in the morning and biked the trails for a few hours and then we swapped. I love that there are trails all over in the Valley for things like that! I didn't know what to expect but I really liked it. It's a lot different than just riding a bike but a lot of fun being able to go in the snow with them. We also took Charley ice skating one day. She was a wreck for the first 30 minutes of trying. That girl! She doesn't like not knowing how to do something. She feels like she has to get it on the first try and if she doesn't, then a horrible tantrum starts. She (obviously) wasn't able to ice skate on her own at first and got really frustrated. It was hard  for me and Spencer to help her and we almost left, but stayed and kept trying and she finally got the hang of it,.. sort of. She liked walking along the wall and trying to skate. At least by the end she was happy!
My mom did a few fun crafts with the kids too! She had a set time a couple days where all the kids would meet in the kitchen and she would do a craft with them! She is the best!
One night the boys went to the Star Wars Movie and had a guys night so we had a girls night too! We went up to get desserts at Sun Mountain and then played ping pong in their game room. It was a lot of fun. On the way up to Sun Mountain we played truth or dare and some of us did some funny things. Montana was dared at a stop light to get out of the car and run around it yelling "I'm engaged, I'm engaged! I'm in love and I don't care who knows it!" haha it was awesome. Bailey had to sit in snow for a few seconds, my mom had to stick her head out the window while we drove in the FREEZING cold air and Rachelle had to do a belly dance with her preggo belly. I was dared to order all our desserts in a German accent (not that easy)! It was a fun night with my sisters and mama!
Lastly, Parker is ENGAGED!!! He proposed to Montana when she came up for a few days to be with our family and Parker. He planned to do it at the ice rink and so beforehand Bailey hung pictures of them on the ice rink walls and then we put flowers our around the area he was going to propose at. Melissa and I took pictures of it too while it happened. She had no idea and was really surprised! It was super cute and they are very happy. We love Monty and are excited to have her in our family!
