HALLOWEEN!!
For Halloween we had our annual church Primary Halloween Chili Cook-off. It was a lot of fun! The kids loved all the games that we had set up in the Primary room. They ate donuts from a string, played Bingo, did mummy bowling, played the witch hat ring toss and there was face painting. For Halloween night we ended up just walking up and down a few streets that were close by in our neighborhood. We wanted to support local businesses that pass out candy and so we decided to stay close to home. It was a perfect amount of time for the girls to walk around before they got too tired and for them to get quite a bit of candy. Each place we went they would give a huge handful instead of one piece so we didn't have to get very far until their bags were full! This year Charley was adamant about being a firefighter. I thought maybe she would change her mind a few times, but every time I would ask her, she would say a firefighter. So we went with it and then had Bergen be her little Dalmatian dog. It was pretty cute!
After we put the girls to bed, we had to go over to our old apartment and clean it up and move everything out since our lease ended 1st of November. We ended up selling a bunch of stuff on Craigslist so it worked out really well. We just went over one last time to clean everything out and leave the keys. We sat on the floor and talked for a while and reminisced about how it looked like the first night we arrived when we didn't have our things yet and the moving truck hadn't arrived. It came full circle 3 years later to where we started. We had some great memories in that little apartment and are so grateful for the good friends we made (and still have) and for being able to bring our little Bergen home in that apartment. It was also Spencer's workspace for the first year and a half and where Charley grew up! It was bitter sweet leaving it for the last time. Good memories in that place.
