Visitors!

4.08.2016

We LOVE our NYC visitors! A few weeks ago my cousin Andy and Joanna came to visit with their cute boy Carter! They stayed with Joanna's brother just a few blocks away and we were able to take them to church and meet up in Central Park with them. We ate at my favorite salad place, Sweetgreen. It was good to catch up with them and chat!
My sister Rachelle and her husband Mike also came to visit with their daughter Sydney. They were here for 3 days and it was a lot of fun! We took them all around the city! Mike calculated our steps and they were between 10-12 miles EVERYDAY!! They were troopers and we were lucky to go around with them trying and tasting our favorite places. Thanks for visiting Shell!! The first day we went on the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty, walked around Wall Street to see the bull, walked the Brooklyn Bridge and had Grimaldi's pizza afterward and then that night we went to Madison Square Garden and watched the BYU game. The boys went a little earlier and got the Halal Guys. It's the best street food! Funny story: so the babysitter was late getting here so Rachelle and I got a late start on the subway to make it to MSG. Well the boys didn't want to wait any longer outside Madison Square Garden because they didn't want to miss tip-off so they just hid our food behind a pillar at the Garden and texted me where they hid it. We got there about 10 minutes later and it was gone!! Someone had taken our yummy Halal Guys food. I was so hangry and sad! But we got some good food inside MSG so it was all good. The next day we got bagels at our favorite bagel shop and then I sent them off to the 9/11 Museum and Memorial. Afterward we met back up in Chinatown to have the best fried dumplings and soup dumplings. The last day we packed it all in! Spencer got up early with them to go get a cronut and then I met up with them after I fed Bergen at Washington Square Park. We walked up to 14th St. Union Square and I took them to my two favorite shops, Fishs's Eddy and Flying Tiger Copenhagen. We saw the Flat Iron Building, went into Eataly and then walked over to get some Sweetgreen salads and walk the Highline. After the Highline, we went to Chelsea Market and then we sent them up to Central Park to ride around on bikes and get Levain Cookies. It was a great week and I'm so glad we were able to show them around! On the way back from Chelsea Market I also found my first #invader art. Winwin!
