Elder Rasband and some random pictures

12.09.2015

This last weekend was so spiritually uplifting for me. We had Stake Conference and Elder Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles was here! He came to call a new Stake Presidency and since Spencer is on the High Council, he was interviewed by him. That night was the adult session of conference to I wasn't planning on going since it would be hard with 2 kids and it being way past their bedtime, but Spencer convinced me to go and I am so glad I did. I feel like most days I stress a lot about sleep for my girls. I, as one friend put it, am a sleep protector and try my best to give my girls good solid naps and have them in bed each night around the same time. This works most days but some days when Charley wakes up from her nap and is being too loud in our tiny apt., it gets me all stressed out that she will wake up Bergen. Anyway, that is not related to my great week. SO the Adult session was sooo good! It is a lot more informal than the Sunday session and I felt like I really got to know Elder Rasband. He is such a loving and humble man. He talked about his angel mother and how he gained a testimony from her. After the session I wanted to shake Elder Rasbands hand but the line was soooo long. I waited a while and then decided to just go up to the front since Bergen was so ready to be done and in bed. I told him I was sorry for cutting in line but I just wanted to come up and shake his hand and thank him for his talk. As I was holding Bergen and shaking his hand he looked me in the eye and said, "I am so glad you did. Thank you. Always remember the power of a mother's testimony." I LOVED that and have been thinking a lot about those words. As a mother and member of the church I feel like there is a lot of responsibly to share good and to do good. But I know that by being loving and kind, non judgmental and humble, we can be better and do better each day. I have a long ways to go, but hope Charley and Bergen are learning from me and my testimony each day.
Here are also some random photos I found on my phone that I love. Charley LOVES watching football with Spencer and it is the cutest! Rainy-day fun and our decorating apt. I also snapped some pictures while feeding Bergen the other night because I love when she looks up at me while she is nursing. It's the cutest! AND this funny text Spencer wrote me one night when he was taking Charley out for ice cream!:)
