Thanksgiving!

12.07.2015

We had so much fun hosting our Thanksgiving dinner this year with tons of our friends and neighbors! We were able to fit 14 adults and 4 kids in our tiny apartment. We moved our living room furniture into our room and made room for two long tables to go in our kitchen and living room! It was actually quite roomy. Spencer's friend, Clint, and his girlfriend Janelle came to stay with us for the week and my friend Gina and her husband Juan from Ecuador came to visit! We had our neighbors from 3 different apartments over as well and it was a party. I love hosting and decorating and having lots of people over so it was a lot of fun for me. We made tons of food, and my friend Megan helped me cook the turkey again by injecting it with tons of beer and butter! :) It was a great Thanksgiving!
We were able to hang out with Clint and Janelle a few times and with Gina and Juan as well. One night we had our neighbors watch the baby monitor while we met up with Clint and Janelle at Tacombi (a place I have been wanting to try). They had some pretty amazing tacos! Then the day after Thanksgiving we met up with Gina and Juan at the 9/11 Memorial and took them to see the Statue of Liberty on the Staten Island Ferry. It was so fun to see Gina and her husband. My dad, many years ago on his mission, baptized Gina's family in Ecuador. She was an exchange student at our house when she was a Senior in High School and then I went to Ecuador to visit her and her family a few years after that. I haven't seen her or her husband for about 10 years so it was good to catch up. The next day we met up with Clint and Janelle again in Chinatown to get some amazing dumplings and Janelle and I bought a purse. We found one of those sketchy Chinese ladies that say softly behind your back while you walk, "watches, handbags, purses" and she took us around back and underground to her stash of fake purses :) We each got a Michael Kors purse and bounced!

  1. I love what a good hostess you are. The table decorations are so cute! And you're a rockstar for having that many people in your apartment :)
