July summer and some birthdays

7.18.2024

July was a good one! We started off with the 4th of July with Spencer's parents. They came to watch the girls while we went on our Alaska cruise. The morning of the 4th, I ran in the 4 mile race in New Canaan and was the 7th women overall. I got 2nd in my age group and got a cool medal. It was HARD since I had not trained for speed but I knew it was only 4 miles and ran fast! That day we spent time with Mark and DeAnn and then that night we spent time with our neighbors and lit a bunch of fireworks. It was a good day! We celebrated Spencer's 40th too which was a huge success! We planned a big seafood boil and invited so many friends, neighbors and co-workers! We ended up have over 50 people here as well as our good friends, the Murphy's, who flew all the way from South Carolina. It was such a great day and Jenn and Brian helped us all day get ready for the party. We decorated the back yard, made lots of salads, desserts and bread and Spencer cooked up a HUGE pot of seafood with shrimp, lobster and crab. We celebrated 1984 Americana style and it was so fun!
Also this month, fire-fly catching, sushi night, Spencer opening presents from the girls, lemonade stands, Bergen Harry Potter Camp and Charley's birthday!
For Charley's birthday we woke her up with breakfast in bed and then she opened presents. We picked up Annie, had lunch and then had cake after lunch since we were going to be gone all day. She wanted to go to the mall in New Jersey and shop and so we got in the car and went! Spencer met us there after work and we bought some clothes, went on the mechanical animals, sifted for cool rocks in sand and then got dinner and went to the candy shop. It was a really fun day!
