We had such a fun 1st Christmas in our new house!! It was the first time that we had ample room for all the cooking and baking that we like to do at Christmas. The girls were all eager to help and we had a wonderful time together. Spencer made his Cuban Rice and Beans with fried plantains and the girls all helped make our cake for Jesus.
On Christmas Eve we told the girls we were pregnant! I had them close their eyes and hold out their hands and placed a picture of an ultrasound picture in each of their hands. Charley got it right away! She jumped up and said, "we are having a baby!!". Bergen thought the picture was of her and Lenny and Jonny understood once Charley said something! It was a fun way to tell them! I told them that Lenny was actually the first to notice my belly bump and a few times would point or touch it and ask me if there was a baby. She was cute, since one time she said, "Mom, I don't want to ask you what I asked our old neighbor Robert, but....." and then stopped. :) She had asked Robert at the pool one time if he had a baby in his belly since his belly stuck out a bit. It was cute that she didn't want to ask since I had told her it was rude to ask someone that but she really wanted to ask anyway.
On Christmas eve we celebrated with the usual Christmas Carols at God's Acre.. It was COLD!!! But we wouldn't let a little cold stop us from participating in this special tradition. Afterwards we went home and let the girls open their sister gifts.
Christmas morning is always so magical for the girls! It's so fun to see how excited they get with each present they open. We like to let the girls open a present and let them play with it until they remember there are more presents under the tree. It makes opening presents last for many hours and sometimes we don't finish opening presents to late in the afternoon.
Madison's Mom made her this very special table runner.
And we told our family we were pregnant on Christmas day! I had my mom open her Calendar I make her every year and on July 1st it says Baby Ellingson Due. I face-timed with her to see her reaction! It was pretty fun to tell them on Christmas day! They were all so excited.
