ALASKA!

7.30.2020

We were so blessed this year with an unexpected trip to ALASKA! It was so fun to see our cousins and hang out with Cliff and Stephs' family. We don't get to see them much and so it was an unexpected surprise. With everything being remote due to Covid we took advantage of working from home and zoom church to head up to Alaska from Seattle. We had such a good time playing outside, hanging with cousins, fishing, picking berries and being outdoors with our cousins.

Bergen was determined to steer the golf cart all by herself. Look at her face!

We took off after the kids were in bed two nights to go on bike rides. This was the Powerline trail which was such a good ride and so beautiful. These pictures were taken around 10pm!

We all loved playing in the water and catching fish. Cliff took Spencer and us out to a little river to catch some pink salmon. There was so many! The pinks don't taste very good so we didn't keep any, but Spencer and Cliff did a day fishing trip later in the week and came home with a bunch of King Salmon and smoked them. Yummy!

One morning Madison and Steph took the kids out to pick berries. They were everywhere! The girls got so many that they ate all they wanted and then we brought some home to make a raspberry pie.

Spencer's monster catches with Cliff. The fishing requires a lot of technique which Spencer admits he did not have. Cliff and a friend caught a bunch of fish and let Spencer real them in. They got some big ones!

Blueberry hill with our cousins! We had a little picnic up on the hill and let the kids pick blueberries and crow berries. It's always a little breezy up on blueberry hill, but the kids had a great time picking berries and exploring the area.

Charley turns 7!

Charley! We had so much fun with you at the waterslides in Chelan with Grandma B and Bart and your cousins. It was the best way to spend a birthday, water slides and cake! You are such a fun, spunky, smart and sweet girl. It's so fun to watch you grow. You LOVE to read, to sing, dance and do anything artistic. You're rainbow cake full of skittles says so much about your personality. You love art and you LOVE sweets. You are our sugar girl. I had so much fun with you RUNNING to each of the water slides as you were so excited to go to the next one. And the pond right behind this picture was another place that we had so much fun together. You loved to get out on the kayak and have me pretend to be an alligator and swim up to your kayak and try to tip you over. After Grand-parent week, everyone commented on how sweet and kind you were. Gramma B said you were so well behaved and sweet and all your older cousins LOVED hanging out with you because you are so easy going and fun! You are such a good big sister and helper too. I love to see you play with Jonny or read a book to Lenny or play with Bergen in the basement. You are a friend, helper, baker, reader, singer and dancer, artist, happy, actress, excited and sweet girl.

A colorful and sugary cake for our colorful sweet tooth 7 year old. This cake has Charley written all over it!
