with our BFF's

6.23.2020

Our favorite day is a day with the Murphys. We spent so many afternoons at the park with the Murphys enjoying each other's family. Our girls and their girls absolutely love each other and we've become second families. We travel together, eat dinner together, spend Chrismas together. Our time in Brooklyn will always be remembered for the time we spent with the Murphys. I will forever be grateful that I met, mothered and was/am best friends with Jennifer. She is the most selfless, fun, happy, reasonable, calm person I know. I strive to be a better person like her and I am always trying to be a better Mother because of her. It's always a plus when both partners get along with another couple and this was the case with the Murphys! Spencer and Brian were little bro friends and I loved seeing them together. They could not be more opposite but it somehow worked. Oh and those little Murphy girls. I just love them so much. They are sweet, silly, friendly and kind and out girls got along so well. A perfect day for me was when I would text or get a text from Jennifer about heading to the park and spending the rest of the day in the sun with her. Then coming home exhausted and filled to the brim of joy and love.

Our last dinner date together!

Bergen and her buddy LuLu!

Lenny's second Mom. We always joke that if Spencer and I die, that Lenny will go to Jen. Lenny loves her so much.

Riding down the "slide" together the park in Greenpoint. All these girls need is an empty space and they will find something to entertain themselves.

We were at the park with the Murphy girls and Bergen found this really cool crystal. It was stuck in this huge rock and so we took it home and smashed it open so she could have the crystal. I still don't know if it is really or fake or how it got into this huge rock, but it was really cool!

Fun beach day with our friends and then a movie night while Brian and Jenn were out of town. It was the perfect weekend for our girls. They had so much fun with their buddies sleeping over.

Lenny wanted Jen to put her down for the night. They have a special little bond.

Saying good bye to our friends with a last meal at our house. Puerto Viejo was on the menu..one of our favorite restaurants down the street.

Our beautiful JUNE

6.17.2020

June was an eventful month for us, especially in Brooklyn! It seemed like there were protests down Franklin avenue, Grand Army Plaza, or Barclays center on a daily basis. There were huge gatherings of people that disrupted our Brooklyn commutes, but we were ok with it because it gave us time to reflect and think more about how we as a family can help to combat racism in our society. As a family we made an effort to get more books with stories of people with different ethnic backgrounds and have family discussions on racism.

Bergen's LONG hair is my favorite!!

With many of our favorite places closed still because of COVID-19 we spent almost every available Saturday this summer at the beach. We found a great place on Jones Beach with no waves and very shallow water where they kids could hang out mostly unsupervised. Spencer and the girls love digging for clams and mussels and of course the large horseshoe crabs that look much scarier than they really are.

We love our neighbors in the building. Jackson, Elle and Lucia were so much fun to play with inside during lockdown days as well as up on the roof when the kids needed some outside time. The kids favorite mode of transportation will always be walking/scootering through Brooklyn!

Again!! Charley broke her arm again. This time it was just a small break but enough that the doctor recommended she get casted for 3 weeks to let it heal.

A little Book Club Zoom with my high school besties!

Sweet Jonny is 5 months and so happy and smily! She is just a joy and the girls all love her so much! I love these 5 months pics I took the other day of her. They show her personality really well!

Fathers Day 2020

Charley graduated from first grade! Her teacher Mr. Roubedango is definitely the hippest teacher around. He works at J.Crew on the weekends and it shows!
