Well March 13th started our first day of social- distancing and quarantining here in New York. It has been quite a whirlwind of emotions for everyone. The Corona Virus moved from China to the United States and has been hit really hard here in New York, so they closed the schools, restaurants, playgrounds and everything in between. The whole city is basically shutdown as it most of the country right now. It is pretty crazy. The grocery stores are beginning to be empty and it's becoming more and more a ghost town. People are asked to quarantine at home and only go out for essentials. Charley will start to do school online and we will do church online as well. All the temples are closed until further notice. The government is basically asking everyone to stay home to slow the curve of the virus getting out of control and putting more pressure on hospitals and health care workers. Everyday, hundreds more people are contracting the virus and the numbers keep going up. Anyway, we are staying home for now and being really cautious and careful about going outside.
I had to take a screenshot of my recent google searches because they made me laugh and I want to remember this crazy time in my life. We have been looking into a town in Connecticut to possible move out to in the future so I was searching that the other night. The coronavirus first starting Washington state so one night while I was feeding Jonny I was searching news about the virus. Bergen had this weird rash on her hands and our good friends just had Fifths disease so I was looking to see if her symptoms were similar and if she had it too. We recently bought a le creuset pan and I needed to know how to get the stains off it. Arm exercises becasue I need to start working out again after having a baby :) and Charley's school to see who her teacher would be for second grade. My life in a google search nutshell.
The girls came home from preschool and had made some mini pies. They were the cutest and tasted really good! I had made the pie filling earlier that morning for the kids to use so the girls were excited to bring them home and eat! We have been having lots of snuggle time with Jonny, Charley lost her first TWO teeth in the same day! Both her bottom teeth were lose so I was pulling on them one day and pulled out one and then later that night she pulled out the other one! She got $5 for each tooth! The tooth fairy was very generous! :) Spencer also started working from home so that has been so fun! The girls LOVE going in there and sitting on his lap and helping him work. Whenever they hear his door open they go rushing to greet him and jump on him. The love bringing him his lunch each day and getting gum from his desk. It has been so nice having him home and being home all day to help or watch the girls if I need to run a quick errand! That has definitely been a silver lining in all of this!
We did a fun singing time with cousins the other day. I was feeling bad that Lenny didn't get as much attention anymore since I had Charley home all day and was helping her with classroom things on the computer and doing preschool things with Bergen and nursing Jonny all day. I felt like Lenny wasn't get much attention, so I thought singing time with cousins would be fun! It was so fun to be with everyone on zoom and see their faces!
Jonny also turned 2 months and is growing so fast. Her hair is still a beautiful auburn color, she is starting to smile and still loves being toted around by her sisters!
Another silver lining in this quarantine is that we play so many games! We play games almost every night with the older girls and it's so much fun! They hurry and get their teeth brushed and PJ's on so we have time to play a few rounds of games. Lenny goes to bed at 7pm since she doesn't nap anymore and so then we get about 30 minutes of gamete with Bergen and Charley is it's so fun! Lenny is starting to potty train so that is going well too! I figured since we are inside all day, we might as well potty train her! She gets a treat every time she goes potty in the toilet and is doing really well! It's so fun to see them transition to the toilet and they just have the cutest little bum in their pants with no diaper on! She is getting to be a ig girl! I am also learning to make yeast bread! I made my first loaf and it turned out so good! Spencer loved it!! It wasn't that hard at all, you just have to know that you want it a few hours beforehand because it has to rise for a few hours. But it was fun to make and I can hopefully keep it up!
