Day 4: Saturday was Charley's birthday party, and Megan helped so much in the morning with this. Spencer had to go sit at the picnic tables we wanted for her party at 6am!! (crazy, I know since the party started at 11am) so Megan rode her bike down to the park to bring him breakfast and then watched Charley while I ran around getting balloons, a watermelon and picked up last minute things. We had Charley's birthday in the park and my good friends, Lorie Ann and Mason came all the way from Baltimore to see us so we hung out with them that night. We walked around Chinatown and got some dumplings at our favorite place and then walked through Little Italy and ate at Lombardi's Pizza and had Gelato for dessert. Little Italy is really fun to walk through because the streets are closed off to cars, so you can roam around on the streets with Italian music playing in the background and all the restaurants have patio seating with lights streaming above you. super romantic... kinda like Italy.
baby chit chat
Day 5: Sunday was a semi-relaxing day. We went to church and then came home and celebrated Spencer's birthday for 30 seconds before he had to fly to Utah for a conference. We had a birthday party for him when he got back (details to come soon!) so I didn't feel too bad about the quickie birthday. After he left we were able to Skype with my parents while Charley opened her presents. They are quite a sight to watch when trying to figure out how to turn on the volume on their Skype!:)
Charley got some cute toys for her birthday. And she got a stuffed animal Cookie Monster that she crawls around everywhere with!

Happy Birthday Daddy!
this hair!
oh hey!! :)
Then we went up to the roof of our building and watched the sunset. Such a perfect evening.
Day 6: Monday was a good day. It all started with a stop at Blue Sky Bakery in Park Slope.
best. muffins. ever. We rode our bikes there and then rode to the Greenwood Cemetery. This place was amazing and HUGE! It's about 4 miles all the way around and has tombstones almost piling on top of each other. I usually am not a fan of cemeteries but this one was really cool! Megan even stayed longer and roamed around while I went back to give Charley a nap. After her nap we took the subway into the city to visit the 911 Memorial and Museum. You could have spent all day there! They did a really good job with it all and it takes you back to that day like you were there. The museum is all under ground and has a very somber feeling to it. It's a really cool place.
This picture of the Twin Towers was taken just minutes before the planes crashed.
These are original stairs that people ran down to escape from the falling buildings.
The many faces of those who lost their lives that day.
This artists made these blue square blocks from water-color. He tried to create each square a little different to represent the way many people described the sky that day. It shows that everyone remembers that day very well. We remember where we were when we heard the news, what we were doing... but we all remember it a little differently.
Megan bought Charley that cute bicycle headband. So sweet!
Welcome to Brooklyn. How Sweet It Is. Love that sign!
Oh I forgot to mention we also stopped by Chinatown again to find Megan her hipster sunglasses. I liked them so much I bought a pair too! Can't beat $5 sunnies.
Day 7: Last and final day we made the most of it despite the rain and thunderstorms. Meg wanted to go back to Park Slope to look at the shops and it started to rain on her so she quickly came back AND brought me flowers. Best sister ever!
We wanted to see a broadway show too so while Charley took her nap, I went to the TKTS booth and stood in line for an hour to get some discount tickets. TKTS is the best because it's really good seats AND cheap. I was first in line and had to take a little selfie of the line. It was super long and wrapped around the building and street. This guy behind me is a total New-Yorker.
Then we walked the Highline and went to Chelsea Market. I love both these places! At Chelsea Market we ate lunch and may have bought a yummy nutella, coconut and strawberry crepe!
random guy saying hi to Charley and then wanting a picture with us...
waiting under the canopy for the rain to pass
That night we saw our Broadway! My amazing friend, Lizzie watched Charely for us while we went to Times Square and saw Cinderella. It was way good and funny!
On the way home we sat by this cool guy on the subway and Meg had to do a little Snapchat action. :)
Such a fun week with my sister! Thanks for coming Meg. We had a BLAST!
What a feast for all the senses!
