Thanksgiving

12.03.2013

We drove to Kentucky for Thanksgiving and had such a good time with Spencer's brother and family! We drove half way on Tuesday and stayed the night in a small town in West Virginia and then drove the rest of the way Wednesday. It was so nice to break up the trip for Charley and West Virginia is beautiful!! The fall colored trees line the highway and there are cute little towns along the way. I fell in love with it! Anyway, Charley was a champ for the 12 hours car ride! That kid puts up with a lot of traveling from her parents and takes it in so well!
We had fun with Clint and Katie playing games, eating a yummy Thanksgiving dinner, going to the park and visiting the Keeneland horse racing track! Seriously the coolest thing! I want to go back when there are actually horse racing! We just saw the grounds and walked around for a bit, but when we got home, I went on the website and checked it out more. If your bored, see for yourself http://www.keeneland.com/ One of my bucket-list items is to go to the Kentucky Derby, but I think going to one of these races would satisfy that wish and be only $10 instead of $300!

Our feast! We had turkey legs that Clint smoked in the GreenEgg that were delish! I told Spence that I want to do turkey legs every year for Thanksgiving. I liked them way better than the traditional turkey.
