Magical December!!

12.16.2013

This month seems like it has gone so fast! I'm surprised that next week is already Christmas! Spencer and I have made a bucket-list of things we want to do this month and have been busy checking things off! Last week we went into the city (Manhattan) and went to Union Square. Union Square has this HUGE outdoor holiday market with rows and rows of vendors. Most everything is homemade and unique. We walked around, I tried on a few hats/scarves and we bought the yummiest Nutella, coconut and banana crepe! We also got a blue cheese, pear and walnut crepe that was delish! We bought some hot apple cider and browsed the shops.
From there we walked up 5th avenue to the Rockefeller Center to see the lit up Christmas tree. It was pretty crowded, but we made our way around to get a good view and see people ice-skating below us.
 Cute Charley!
 love me some bath time!
I LOVE spencer working from home! I absolutely love it! He is such a big help around the house and it's so nice to be able to go out on a run while Charley is taking a nap and leave her at home with Spencer. I was nursing Charley one day and had to snap a pic of Spence working in our bedroom.. talking with his hands and all!:)
Grocery shopping in New York is a bit different than anywhere else! The first time I went, I did it all wrong and ended up with WAYYY too many groceries to carry, plus Charley in her car-seat and the elevator wasn't working and it was a disaster! They don't let you take out your shopping cart from the store.. so whatever you buy, you have to carry out to your car.. which is probably in a parking garage 3 levels down or parked 5 blocks away because that's the closest you could find. There are no parking lots to the store like most places in the world... so Charley and I usually just walk to the store and I carry those heavy duty plastic grocery bags for my groceries. We're getting it!
 Our NY Christmas tree!
I have also been on a sewing kick recently and sewed some stockings for Charley and her future siblings!:) I love how they turned out! I got all my fabric from fabric.com. It's amazing and really reasonably priced.
I also sewed our curtains in our room
Last week we went into the city with some friends and ate at this yummy Brazilian place and went to the famous Magnolia Bakery afterward! We got a coconut bar and brownie and they were soo yummy!
Spencer and I also went to Brian Regan last night! It was so much fun! My sisters bought me tickets for my birthday and so we left Charley at home and went out on a fun date. Actually we left her with the neighbors.. but Brian Regan was really funny and it was nice to have a night to ourselves!
Charley is becoming quite the sleeper these days and will usually sleep 14 hours at night! wahoo!! I love watching her in the baby monitor.. such a sweetheart!
Up next on our bucket list... Santaland at Macy's to get a picture with Santa, ice-skating in Central Park, Decker Heights light show, Bryant Park winter village, window shop on 5th ave., see a Broadway show and go to Chelsea Market Christmas Eve and get a huge $50 lobster for each of us !:)
Who wants to join us?:)

  4. i wanna come!!! sounds like so much fun! and the pear/walnut/bleu cheese crepe sounds amaze-balls. :) when we lived in chicago, everyone had these fold-able wire carts that they'd use to carry their groceries home, have you seen those? probably worth the investment if you are walking to the store, but maybe not needed if you drive...
