I really do... Good-byes are no fun. no fun at all. When Spencer first came home to tell me that his boss had asked him if he would go out to New York for a few years for his job, I was so excited and knew we couldn't pass this opportunity up! We had always talked about living somewhere outside of Utah.. somewhere exotic and adventurous. Somewhere where we didn't know anyone and where we would learn and grow up.. I never dreamed it would be New York. But here we are now sitting in our little Brooklyn apartment and it is actually a reality!
The hard part was saying goodbye to all our family and friends. I have absolutely LOVED living so close to my sisters here in Utah. When I first moved here, I lived really close to my sister Danielle and we would get together all the time for runs and dinner. And then when I got married, Spencer and I moved to Lehi and I was close to my sister Sarah and my sisters Megan and Bailey at BYU. It was so much fun having family dinners, game nights and just hanging out! I love my sisters so much and will miss them!
The whole month of October seemed like one big whirlwind of packing our apt and saying bye to all our close family and friends. We traveled to Washington to say bye to my parents and WA sisters, we traveled to Colorado to say hi and bye to his Grandpa who I had never met and bye to my sister Sarah, we stayed with Spencer's parents and got to hang out with them one last time and say bye to his brothers and parents.. we also had lots of dinners with our friends to say bye to them. It was sad to say bye to our neighbors and ward friends too.. but I know it won't be the last time I will see a lot of them again.. which makes me feel better about this whole thing.
Here is our house before the movers came.. all boxed up!
I know that Spencer is especially going to miss his neighborhood buddies! These last 2 years, the boys have grown to love "Big Spencer" and hanging out with him. He loves these boys too and loved to invite them over to play video games or to come get a "treat". Here he is with his best bud Asher, who is 5!:) He love "Big Spencer" and knew that anytime he said, "Go BYU" he would get an otter pop!
And here we are.. off to a new adventure! As you can tell, Charley is so sad to go!
Wish us luck!
