End of year happenings, a graduation and MEXICO

6.21.2023

Charley graduated 4th grade and South School! So bittersweet. She had a sweet end of year graduation and I was able to help out at the water balloon station which was fun! She has been so excited to start Saxe next year but when she got off the bus on the last day of school she was crying and said she was going to miss South School so much! I agreed with her that it was a sad time and that she had such a great year and last couple years at South School. It has been such a great school for our kids and she has really had some great teachers and staff guiding her. Charley also finished out the year doing softball and got to pitch a lot this season. She loved it and has really good technique! The coach really helped her get better and she had a great year doing softball! Charley also did one last theater performance in Matilda starring as Matilda! She was great and has such a sweet voice! The girls also had their field day which is so fun to watch! We got to be there in the morning to watch Bergen do a few stations and then went back later that afternoon to watch Charley! Bergen performed in her theater class as Ursula in The Little Mermaid! She sang with such confidence and boldness it was amazing!! Charley also performed in her jazz dance class. They danced to a conga song and had the cutest outfits they wore! It was fun to see her perform and work on her dance skills.

I love hanging out with these two! Now that Lenny is done with preschool we have been spending our days together and they play so well! They are often playing for hours by themselves and making up games and playing family or doctor. They also have a great sense of style and are always dressing in the best clothes/outfits. Jonny always has a purse and sunglasses and necklace. It's awesome! The other day Lenny got a cookbook from the library so we made some tortilla strip fairy wands with sprinkles.

MEXICO!! Spencer and I were able to get away for a work trip/babymoon for a few days and it was the best!! I was 37 weeks pregnant and technically not supposed to fly, but who was going to ask right? It was such a fun trip. We went to Puerto Vallarata and stayed in a really nice beach resort. His company paid for everything and even gave us a few experiences to do. I got a facial and Spencer took surfing lessons. He also went spear fishing while I stayed by the pool and in our hotel room for the AC. We had a few company dinners but also went into the town one night and got dinner with a few friends. We mostly drank virgin mojitos, sat by the pool and relaxed. It was such a great time to get away and relax before baby came! One night I had a really bad abdominal paid and woke Spencer up to tell him. In the morning he gave me a blessing and after his blessing I felt so calm the rest of the trip that nothing would happen to me or baby. It was nice to have that blessing and feel good about being in a foreign country when I could have given birth at any moment. My niece, Sydney, came out to watch the girls and everything worked out so well! She did such a great job and was able to keep everything happy and healthy and fed :) We were grateful that she was able to come out and help us and I think it was a good experience for her too! When we got back, the next day, she went into the city by herself and went to the temple and explored a bit. She was a rockstar in the city and navigating the trains all by herself!
