April Spring Break, a few Broadway shows and Charley's Talent Show

4.21.2022

We had a very eventful, full, set-stresseful month of April. Spencer had a knee replacement during Spring Break and while it was a good time to take off work and the kid's were out of school, it was hard to do it all. I needed to keep the kids busy and out of the house during break but Spencer also needed me home helping him. The balance was tough but we survived and it all worked out. We were able to do some fun things for Spring Break. I took the girls bowling for their first time which was a lot of fun! We went on a hike and had the best ice cream at Arthusa near Litchfield, CT. We went to the library and checked out lots of books. We pampered dad and brought him breakfast in bed and the girls massaged his leg. I had some sleepless nights switching out his ice machine, getting his meds and helping during the day with meals, meds and getting him around the house. On the last day of Spring Break I took the girls into the city to go to the Children's Museum and Central Park. It was such a fun day and the girls wanted to stay longer at the playground in the park but I knew we needed to get back home to dad. We had a fun break! Charley also finished reading the Book of Mormon so I took her out on a date to get a pedicure! She was really cute and excited during the whole process and it was fun to go one-on-one with her! Also, each night during break I let one girls stay up one night and we popped popcorn and watched a movie of their choice. Bergen chose Raya because "it's 2 hours and the longest movie ever!" haha which was cute. Charley chose Turning Red and Lenny chose Sleeping Beauty. It was really fun staying up with just one kid and having time with them.

My sister Sarah came into town the week before Spring Break so we met up with her twice in a row! The first night we went to Moulin Rogue which is our favorite and continues to be our fave!! It is so good and we converted her and Grace to loving it as well! Then the second night just I came into the city and first stopped in Brooklyn to say hi to Pierre Land and her girls. Pierre Land took me to her restaurant and cooked me some yummy food and lots of plantains because she knows I love them! Then I met up with Sarah and Grace and we went to Levain and the walked around Times Square and saw Dear Evan Hanson. It was a fun night and super fun to see Sarah and Grace!

Charley was the opening act in South School Variety Show. She sang "We Don't Talk About Bruno" and rocked it!! She did so good! We were all so proud of her. She didn't seem nervous at all and took the stage and walked right on and started singing. It was so cute and she had some great dance moves while she sang! I loved it so much!!
