First Day of School!! 2019-2020

Charley started FIRST grade this year! We decided to give public school another shot since I am pregnant and know having 4 kids at home and trying to homeschool would be really hard. I did a school tour of our local school PS 705 and it was pretty good! I liked the fact that it was small (only 2 classes per grade) and all the faculty was super nice. I did a few school tours to try to find a good one and decided on just our local one because of it's convenience and I really did like the small school community feel. Our neighbors also attend 705 and really like it. Charley will go to the dual language class where they speak Spanish every other day so I think that will challenge her a bit too! Her teacher is Mr. Rebaudango and is fantastic! He is super kind, patient and upbeat. I think it's going to be a great year! Our theme for the year is "I will be BRAVE". This is just for me as it is for the girls. If it were up to me, I would homeschool again but know I can't physically. So I know I need to be brave to let Charley explore a new school setting. I want the girls to be brave too going into a new school year not knowing anyone at school and having a new environment around.

Bergen also started preschool with Ms. Jessica! She is in our ward and wanted to do a small preschool for a few kids in the ward. She is SUPER excited to go and Ms. Jessica is so loving, joyful and creative. I know Bergen will really enjoy it. It is in Park Slope (2 miles away) so Bergen will bike and I will run next to her with the stroller. She is a tough girl and loves to bike so it will be perfect!
