New York in December

12.11.2018

New York in December is magical! There is so much to do and see around Christmastime. I love it! The girls and I made a list of things we wanted to do and were able to do most everything on our list before we flew to Washington for Christmas. We made a Christmas advent by linking paper tougher and each day one of the girls got to take a link off and read what we got to do that day. We went to the shopping store, FAO Shwartz and played on the colorful piano and I let each of the girls pick out a toy. That place is so big and magical!! The toys are really cool and no electronics. Charley picked out hair chalk and Bergen picked out a candy necklace. We went with the Murphy's to see Peter and the World at the Guggenheim. It was a short 25 minute play. The girls enjoyed it! We say THE tree at the Rockefeller building, went to Bryant Park to see the Holiday Market, went Christmas Caroling on   Park Ave with thousands of other people and saw Santa at Macy's! The girls both asked Santa for an American Girl Doll with straight hair. It was pretty cute. Lenny had a priceless face when she saw him too! :)
After SantaLand, the girls and I went to the Nutella Cafe and shared a sweet treat. The cafe has Nutella everything! :) We baked cookies for the fireman one night and took them over. It was a lot of fun and the firefighters let the girls go up in their firetruck and try on their helmets! The girls loved it!! We did our annual caroling to our neighbors and I used my double stroller and we ran around the neighborhood and caroled to friends. I packed hot chocolate and snacks and we had some bread to had out to people. We also stopped in a few grocery stores and made extra for the mailman and UPS man. One man in the grocery store was so surprised and thankful for the cookies! His face lit up and it made us all feel so good when we gave it to him.
We did our annual Christmas decorated with Megan and Donn too! We had lots and lots of cookies!! It's always fun to see them and chat. Megan is pregnant and we are so excited for them!! We also had Ballet and Gymnastics performances, I trimmed Bergen's hair, we decorated gingerbread houses with Violet and Emmeline and Charley and I went to the Big Apple Circus with her class.
We had our ward Christmas party with a dinner, music and photo-booth. Charley had a cute Christmas performance at her school. They sang and danced on stage. And lastly, I went out with some friends to see the Rockettes! I love that show so much. Those ladies are super talented and dance amazingly!! The ending where they have the live nativity is so sweet and touching. I love that all the Rockettes are the same height. When they do the can-can all in sync it's amazing!!
