Charley turns 5!

7.18.2018

My sweet girl turned FIVE!!! Charley got to celebrate her birthday with all her cousins on the Ellingson side. We were at a family reunion in South Carolina. We requested an oreo cake and so I tripled the recipe for all 36 people! :) We had a fun day making princess crowns and playing the human piƱata game. I glued fun prizes onto shirts and had the older cousins run around while the kids tried to grab them. It was fun except for the glue gun was super strong and the kids couldn't pull the toys off very well. We got Charley a sewing kit and art box for her birthday. It was a pretty great day.
Charley is my sweet and sensitive oldest child. She is a rule follower and helper. Charley is a major hoarder of all things she finds and I will find really random things in her drawers like plastic spoons, bubble wrap, glass and folded up paper. She is such a good big sister to her siblings and is very helpful with Lenny. She just recently has been really interested more in hanging out with friends and doing/saying/having what they have. Charley loves to sing and dance! She will often tell Alexa to play different music so she can sing and dance to them. Her favorite right now is The Greatest Showman and the movie Sing. Charley loves to dress up and has a special bag with pretend lipstick (a  plastic cucumber from our food bin) and her Elsa dress up shoes she bought with her own money. Before we went to the family reunion Charley had only watched 4 other movies (they watched a ton at the reunion). Charley loves doing crafts and creating things with art supplies. She loves painting, drawing and gluing. She also is really into making books and writing words she knows. Charley is an excellent reader and has really grown in reading these last few months! She is getting really good at reading whole books and sounding out words she doesn't know. Charley has the cutest laugh and will laugh at pretty much anything silly:)
I love this girl so much and am so lucky and proud to be her mom. She is going places!
