End of July

More creations happening: homemade jello play dough, dirt pudding cups with gummy worms, volcano science experiments, bird houses, apple donuts and more pictures from our bread in bag making.
We also had a really fun day last week and did a random acts of kindness day. We went to Washington Square Park with our friends and handed out flowers and balloons to people. It made people's day and the kids'! It was so fun. Then we let the kids play in the fountain. Success all around!
I have been training for my 9th marathon coming up! Every Saturday seems to be rainy and wet which is totally fine with me. I would much rather run in the rain than hot sun. This particular run was POURING rain. It was coming down so fast and hard it was crazy. The sky was a dark green color and it was so fun to run the streets pretty much alone in the rain!

CAPE COD 2K18

7.26.2018

We had a "spur of the moment" trip up to Cape Cod for the week! Spencer decided to quit his job and we had a week break so we decided to head up to the Cape. It's one of our favorite places! We found a Home Exchange that we could use for the week and it was in a good location. The backyard had a fire pit and we were really close to the beach so it was a win-win. On the way up we stopped in Newport, Rhode Island and spent 2 days there. 2 years ago we stopped in Newport just for the day and thought it was such a cute town. We decided to stay the night this time and really explore it. We stayed in a Airbnb and tried so many lobster dishes, went to the Breakers Mansion, I ran the Cliff Walk everyday and we went to the beach. The water was a lot colder than in South Carolina, but still fun to be at the beach. The Breakers was AMAZING! The house is huge and it's just fun to see how lavish people lived. The house was just a summer cottage for them and they said the kids would change about 3 or 4 times a day depending on the activity they were going to do. And the adults were bath a few times a day too.
In Cape Cod we spent most of our time trying to find the best Lobster Roll (which we found at Skipper Chowder House). One night we bought our own lobster and did a lobster boil with sausage, corn on the cob and potatoes. It was pretty fun but not as good as the restaurant. We roasted smores at night, went to the beach, got giant muffins at a bakery, went to the local creamery for some yummy ice cream, relaxed in the sun and enjoyed family time. It was a great vacation!
