Christmas in Winthrop, WA

12.29.2018

Yay for WINTHROP!!! Everyone was so excited to go to Washington this year for Christmas. It was so. much. fun! We had a blast being together with family and seeing friends. It was quite the trip packing everything across the country, but we made it and really had a great time with my family. The girls loved playing with their cousins, Lenny started walking! (she saw her cousin Maddie walking around and decided she wanted to as well!), played in the snow, enjoyed opening presents and playing games at night! My parents were so gracious in letting everyone stay in their home. There were 31 people for 9 days in the house and it was amazing! There is so much room it never felt crowded but always something going on, games being played, cousins running around and lots of catching up! Some favorites included snowmobiling, horse riding, fat-biking, running with my sisters, ice skating, Bergen, Charley and JD singing Gethsemane for the church Christmas program, playing in Bart's barn, and sledding. One night Spencer and I were able to get away up to Sun Mountain for the night. We ate in town at Carlos 1800 and then spent the night up at Sun Mountain which was super relaxing and nice to have a night to ourselves.

We also drove to Spokane one day and spent it with Tim and Heather and their two kids, Rex and Finley. It was fun to catch up with them and see their house! The girls had so much fun playing dress up with Finley!
On Christmas Eve we went up to Sun Mountain and saw Santa. The girls got to tell him what they wanted and then they decorated cookies. Christmas Eve we also sang Happy Birthday to Jesus and I made a tres leches cake, the girls got to open Christmas jammies from Bart and Gramma B and then we watched Small One, read from the Bible and Gramma B read Polar Express. Christmas morning was so fun to see the girls go into the room where Santa had left them each an American Girl Doll and stuffed their stockings with presents. They loved seeing what they got and really liked their dolls!  Grandma and Grandpa Ellingson got them bags for the dolls to go in and then Spencer and I both got them something. Spencer got Charley purse and Bergen a dress up outfit. I got Charley a mermaid tail and Bergen bracelet making kit. We then got each of them a book as well. It was a good day! Spencer got me a tea making class and Athleta coat and I got him tickets to see Dear Evan Hansen and a sweatshirt from Lulu Lemon.
