Bergen's is TWO!

5.14.2017

Our sweet Bergen is 2 years old!! She is so fun at this age. She is a lot different than Charley so that has been a learning curve for me. Bergen is much more vocal and energetic about the things she wants. She talked very early on which made it easy to understand and surprises a lot of people when she could say full sentences. She can usually put about 4-5 words together when she says something. She is very opinionated and very impatient. :) She always wants things right then and now or else there is a scream or cry coming. Bergen is very adventurous and daring. She was climbing on the playground equipment right after her first birthday. She loves the monkey bars and swinging from the bars. Bergen also loves food! She is our eater for sure! She loves to sit and eat and will always be swayed with food. I have to pack snacks for her constantly or else she will just keep repeating "mama hungee, mama hungee". She isn't a 'sweets' person though. She will rarely eat her dessert or things that are too sweet. She is more of the bacon and eggs girl. She also eats some weird things like frozen spinach and blue cheese. Another thing is that she has been calling me "mama" and I love it!! Something about saying that instead of mom or mommy makes me happy:)
Bergen wants to be just like her sister. She follows her around the house and mimics everything she says. With that, she also likes to tease her sister a lot. She makes Charley sad sometimes but Charley is too sweet to stick up for herself so Bergen will just tease and tease.
Bergen takes a nap from about 1-3 and has to have her little black kitty, blanket and black doggie with her. She loves her little stuffies and blanket. She also loves cats! Anything cat. She loves seeing and petting cats, she looks for stray cats on our walks and she loves reading about cats.
Bergen is really good on her little scooter. She started liking to ride Charley's at about 18 months and then for her birthday we got her her own. She is getting really fast on it which makes going to the playground a lot easier than when she was first starting. She is good to stop at the sidewalks and wait for me. She is cute and will carry it over rocky parts of the sidewalk or the metal grade part. We get compliments constantly about how little she is and what a good rider she is!
Bergen is also very competetive. Anything Charley can do or tries to do Bergen wants to do to. Charley started to want to open our apartment door with our key and so then Bergen had to have a try. Charley's interest faded in opening the door so now it's just Bergen every.single.day. About 2 blocks away from our place she will realize we are getting closer and will call "yellow key, yellow key".
Bergen has started to potty train herself, just like her sister at this age. She will tell me about 2-3 times a day when she needs to go pee and always when she has pooped in her diaper. She is really good to go pee on the toilet which has made it nice. I think I just need to get behind potty training her and it will be easy.
Bergen knows her letters and numbers. She can count to 20 and recognize up to 10. She LOVES to sing and will sing Twinkle Twinkle and the ABC's all by herself. When I am signing her good night sings she will usually sing along too.
Bergen is also our game player. She loves playing duck, duck goose, hide-n-seek, the "cars" game and playing broad games with the family. A favorite is banana grams where we show her different letters and she tells us what letter it is. Spencer also plays a lot of sequence with them where he shows them a card and they have to find that number card on the sequence board. It has really helped her with her letters and numbers.
We love our Bergen so much! She is such a sweet little girl and we are so happy she is in our family!
