Our Christmas in Maine!

1.05.2016

We loved traveling up to Maine in October so much that we decided to go up there again for Christmas. We had talked with two of Spencer's brothers and their families about doing an East Coast Christmas and mentioned that we loved Maine. We decided to find an Airbnb outside of Portland, that way we were close to lots of the cute, small towns and could go up to Portland if we wanted. This trip was so much fun! We met up with Clint and Katie and their family and Alan and Rosa and their little girl. It was a perfect vacation of getting out and doing things, but also relaxing at the house playing games, sledding and for me, making a quilt. I loved going to all the little towns around the area and exploring more of Maine. We went to the beach in Ogunquit one day, down to Portsmouth for some yummy burgers and ice cream up to Portland for the best breakfast ever! and Freeport for New Years Eve celebrations and outlet shopping. We also made it down to Boston one day to go to LegoLand and do a little shopping (and maybe Mike's pastry for the best canolis ever). Christmas was a lot of fun this year for Charley too since she understood more of what was going on. She LOVEd opening presents! She wanted to open every single present just to open it and then would go to the next wrapped box. She didn't really look to see what was inside, she just wanted to unwrap.
We also did lots of fun activities like make ginger-bread houses, Charley and the boys made a sign so Santa knew where to put their presents, we made cookies, Kate made some amazing rolls and cinnamon rolls too! It was so much fun to spend time with family and just hang out together. The house we rented was amazing too! It had a huge pond and backyard to roam around and play in. The house was super nice and very well taken care of and had 5 rooms so we weren't crowded at all! This is going to be a picture overload, but I just took way too many pictures over the break!:)
Charley took these next 3 pictures of Spencer and Katie by herself! She is getting pretty good at taking pictures and loves it when I let her take a few.
