Gramma B came to visit!

6.11.2015

My dearest mother has the best tradition of coming out to visit each of her daughters when they have a baby. I love it when my mom comes to visit, but especially when I have a newborn. She was the biggest help when Charley was born and taught Spencer and I a lot about having a baby. When Bergen was born, she came out again and helped us for a week. It was so nice to have an extra set of hands helping with Charley and Bergen. She cooked for us. She cleaned for us. She took Charley out to the playground. She held Bergen in the wee hours of the night. She showed patience and love and was such an example to me (again) of the kind of person I want to be someday. I am glad she was able to come see us! My sister Sarah just had a baby boy, so she flew straight from NYC to Colorado to be with her for another week. She is one busy woman!
While my mom was here we went out and did quite a bit. When you live in a 500 square foot apt. you don't really "stay in" a lot. We got out each day and did something fun with my mom and the girls.
We went to the Carousel under the Brooklyn Bridge the first day she was here. Here is my super-dad hunk holding both girls!
Charley was super excited to ride the "neigh" (horse).
Right next to the carousel there is this really cool colored glass house that we checked out. It was starting to rain, so we didn't stay long though.
Then we ended the night with some Jacques Torres chocolates, cookies and ice cream.
We went to the Children's Museum one rainy day too. I only got a picture of us walking there though.. :(

We went to the playground a few times and Charley swung to her hearts content.
And we topped the week off with going to the Bronx Zoo. Spencer took the day off and we went to the zoo for the whole day. Charley loved seeing all the animals and getting really close to the tiger! He kept pacing back and forth right in front of her and she would wave and say "hiiiii". It was really cute!
We also went to music class one morning. Charley loves our Friday music class that we go to and really gets into the dancing and singing. She seems to be the most active kid in there!
My mom also watched the girls one night so Spencer and I could have a date night. I had been wanting to take him to this climbing gym for a while, so we decided to go. It did not disappoint. It was so much fun! We haven't been climbing in forever and it felt so good to climb with Spence. I wish it didn't cost so much and we would go more often.
My mom is a very talented lady and made the prettiest quilt for Charley when she was born and for Bergen! She brought Bergen's when she came out and so we took a few pictures of my mom with the girls and their quilts. I love how the quilts match just enough but are still very different.
Thank you again mama for coming out! We loved having you stay and help us!!
