Mothers

"This job has been given to me to do.  Therefore, it is a gift.  Therefore, it is a privilege.  Therefore, it is an offering I may make to God.  Therefore, it is to be done gladly, if it is done for Him.  Here, not somewhere else, I may learn God's way.  In this job, not in some other, God looks for faithfulness."  --Elisabeth Elliot

A few months ago I posted this quote about Motherhood and wanted to share it again because I LOVE it so much. It is really something that I try to live by and think about while raising Charley. Motherhood really is a gift from God and is something that he has trusted upon us. On LDS.org it says that Motherhood is the "highest, holiest service assumed by humankind. It's the definition of selfless service. It's both a daunting responsibility and a glorious opportunity." I am so thankful that I have been trusted with Charley and have the opportunity to raise children. It has been such a huge blessing in my life and has made me and Spencer better people and happier! I hope everyone enjoyed their Mother's Day and even if you are not a Mother or your mother is no longer here, I really believe all women are mothers through caring for others' children, helping children they don't know, taking care of nieces and nephews or even being a listening ear and giving advice to friends who are mothers.
I am also so so so thankful for these two mothers! My mom is one of the most selfless, caring women you will ever meet. She puts others' needs before hers and is always so in-tune with other people's feelings. She is caring and kind and inspires me to be a better person and mother with her love and happiness!
Spencer's mom, DeAnn, is also so compassionate and kind. She is always thinking about her children and their families and how she can help them. She cares for others and is always so happy and positive. I am grateful she raised such amazing boys (did I mention she has 8 boys!) and that they treat each of their wives and children so well!

  1. Thanks Madz! I think Spencer married the most wonderful girl. She is a great wife and a wonderful mother to our grand-daughter Charley!
