We got the best text a few days before Memorial Day from our neighbors, Megan and Don. She asked if we wanted to go in on a beach house in the Hamptons with private beach access in a cute little house out in the open with green trees, cute little shops, parking lots at the grocery store and no city noise! Well we immediately said yes and started packing for our trip! The beach house was about 2 hours from Brooklyn so it was a perfect little getaway. The Hamptons are just east of us on Long Island and it was so nice to get out of the city for a few days. It kind of made us homesick for open spaces and country living.
We had such a good time going to the beach, visiting South Hampton where all the rich HUGE famous houses are (can you RITZY!?), eating good food and playing lots of games!
On the way there it took us 4 hours because of traffic. We moved 6 miles in ONE HOUR getting out of the city! Luckily Charley had her feet to play with!:)
Saturday we went into a cute little Village (they call all the towns out there villages) called Greenport. It is right on the water and had some really cute shops and food. Look at the size of those fish and chips!
Charley loves her friend Megan!
The next day we went to the famous Coopers Beach. I guess it's rated the #1 beach in the US! Who knew?! It was kind of foggy that day, but still a pretty nice beach. It's in the South Hamptons where there are HUGE houses, well manicured lawns and the nicest cars parked outside. It was funny because at the beach we parked next to had 2 Mercedes, a BMW and an Audi! From the beach you can see Calvin Kleins house and a few others but we couldn't really see them because it was so foggy. After the beach, we went into the town and drove around for a while. The town reminded me of Eagleton from Parks and Rec. If you haven't seen that show it's just the ritziest town ever! We saw guys with sweaters around their necks, women dressed to the tee in the trendiest fashion and the nicest cars... (we saw a tesla!) I would love to be a citizen for a week and see how it is in the school system and just living in the neighborhood!
Charley loved the beach after she got over the fact that she couldn't eat the sand.
Megan and Don brought their dogs and Charley LOVED it! When she was eating, she would stick her hand out and Moose would lick her hand because it had food all over it. She thought it was the coolest! :)
We went out one night for the sunset. It was beautiful!!
Charley couldn't get enough of Hannah! They are about the same size and she loved
pettinggrabbing her head.
Thank you Megan and Don for a fun weekend! Sorry you had to wake up at 7am each morning from Charley! :)
Looks like such a fun place....glad you could go and enjoy the weekend....great pics

you guys are the cutest lil fam ever! These pictures are perfect and just so so happy! It looks like a dream weekend indeed!
ReplyDeleteOh the beach! Looks like the perfect start to summer. It's adorable that Charley enjoys dogs so much. Leone likes dogs from a distance (or at least the idea of dogs) but once they get close it's a different story.
