This last week has been bit slower than most because of the cold. I guess there is an actual name for how cold it has been. We were in a Polar Vortex! It was freezing.. negative temperatures and then put the wind on top of that and one day my phone said it "felt like" -10! So we stayed inside lots.
Charley found her toes this last week and tries to gnaw on them whenever she can!
She also had her first time in a shopping cart! She didn't really know what to think, but was a trooper at Costco anyway.
We have been feeding her solids now and it has been so much fun to watch her try to figure it all out. It's pretty amazing how babies do it and figure out things like eating, chewing, swallowing, and hand-eye coordination. Anyway.. she stuck her thumb through the cucumber and was sucking her thumb while getting just a taste of the cucumber! It was pretty cute.
And the training begins! The Boston Marathon is April 21st so I have about 16 weeks to get in the best running shape of my life! I have met a few girls that I started running with and it has been so nice to have a running buddy! Saturday we did 12.5 miles and it went by so fast since I had someone to talk to. I am excited for this year's marathon and hope to do well and be able to train hard.

Typical nursing view.. I'm loving her chubby fingers these days.
This was a while ago but for New Years we were really boring and stayed inside. It's true what people say about once you have kids, New Years isn't that much fun anymore.. We went out to eat and then came back home and put Charley to bed and then just watched movies till midnight. A few minutes before midnight we went up to the roof of our apt. and watch fireworks from there. You can actually see the statue of liberty from our roof so we had a pretty amazing view of the skyline.

One goal that Spencer and I have this year is to try to have a salad a day. I don't think we have missed one day! I LOVE having a salad for lunch and putting so many different things on top. It's so light and refreshing!
Charley loves her daddy! She will often stop crying when Spencer holds her and loves "working" with him. He will hold her while he works and she would chew on his phone cord for hours if we let her.

Charley feeding herself...I am trying a different approach to baby food. No purees and messy blended food. Just the straight fruit/vegetable for her to figure out how to chew, gnaw and feed herself. It's SOO nice not having to feed her and letting her figure it out.
This last Saturday we went on a quest to try to find the best bubble tea and donuts. We succeeded in finding the best donuts and are still looking for a good bubble tea. We went down to China Town and tried a few and Spencer got his favorite sesame pancake (yum!).. but we are still on the lookout for a good bubble tea! These donuts were to die for! I don't even like donuts and LOVED these! They had some pretty amazing kids like nutella stuffed, toasted coconut, and sea-salt carmel chocolate!
