Mother's Day

5.13.2013

Mother's Day was a little more special this year for me and Spencer since we will be first time parents in 9 weeks! Being a mother is becoming more and more real to me as this pregnancy goes on and I have two lovely women to thank and who have been such great examples to me and Spencer! Our DEAR mothers! I have learned a great deal from DeAnn as I have gotten to know her and talk with her and it is so impressive that she could raise 8 boys! I was going through Spencer's baby book and looking at all the fun pictures that were taken when he was little and was so impressed how much DeAnn did with her kids and for her kids! She must have been so organized and on top of things to keep track of all her boys and be able to make each one of them feel special and loved! You can tell now by the way they turned out and how each have unique and confident personalities.

I am so grateful for my own Mother. I love it when people say I look like her or I remind them of her! It is such a compliment to me! She really is such a great example to me of how to be patient, selfless and full of love. She has such a kind heart and loves to serve others. I love how she is always thinking of others and would put notes around the house for her children or my dad. She still sends packages regularly to her children "just because" she is thinking of them. My mom loves to make everyone around her feel good and special. She is always worried about hurting someone's feelings and making sure everyone is happy and having a good time. My mother is the queen of organization and double/triple checking things. I love this trait in her and that I got it as well. She has taught me so much on how to organize my life, how to rip papers in half when I'm done with them and how to lock the door and then check it by wriggling the handle until it almost breaks the door!:) I have such fond memories of seminary growing up as my mother was the teacher. She had such great lessons prepared and sometimes even breakfast! :) Lastly, my mother has taught me how to laugh, dance, smile and be goofy. She is always dancing and having a good time no matter the company and I have always admired her for this. She could have a house full of 30 people and not get uptight or impatient, but instead start dancing to some music that came on!
I love you mother! thank you for your example to me!
