The beginning of the school year is always such a sweet time for our family. I love having the girls home in the summer but the excitement for the first day of school is so fun too! I was able to take each girl out to get some school clothes and it was a fun date that we did in August together. It's also fun to see their styles and what they pick out! Bergen is going into 2nd grade and will have Mrs. Lacomis for her teacher!! (That's who Charley had too!) She has a lot of friends in her classroom this year which will be fun! Charley is going into 4th grade and will have Miss Marek for her teacher. The night before school we had a fashion show to see all their cute new clothes and Spencer gave them a Father's Blessing. It's a sweet tradition we do. The girls also wanted to see some new clothes that Spencer and I had so they convinced me to try on my wedding dress which still fit! and Spencer tried on a new shirt he had gotten. The first day we walked to school and I snapped a picture of them walking into their school.
We have had such an eventful summer! We have been able to do so much and travel so much. It has been so fun! The girls were great travelers to so many states and we loved being home as well and swimming in the pool, doing lemonade stands and hanging with friends. For Madison's birthday we took a ferry to an island off of Greenwich and spent the day on the beach. It was a lot of fun and a very small and secluded beach. Not a lot happening which was nice. The girls collected sea creatures and we stayed till the rain came and sent us back home. We came home and had strawberry rhubarb crisp (my fave!!) and I opened presents from the girls. It was a great day! For my birthday I also invited some friends into the city to watch the Broadway Hadestown. It was a fun day and we stopped at Los Tacos beforehand to get some yummy tacos. Hadestown was a different play but it was still good with some really good songs!
We went to the Parker's Lakehouse for a weekend getaway which was so nice and fun! We took the boat out and did the roap swing. I wakeboarded and surfed and the girls kneeboarded. We played at the beach as well and had a really good time!
