more May fun

5.31.2020

More May happenings. We have gone to the park a few times with the Murphy family and had a good time enjoying the sun with them! They are moving beginning of July and we are so so sad. I will miss every friendship our family has made with them. Violet and Emmeline are such best friends with Charley and Bergen. Lenny and Jennifer have such a such relationship and she is like her second mom. I remember when Lenny was learning the word "mom" she called Jennifer Mom for a while. She always always goes to Jennifer when we are hanging out and Jennifer usually ends up holding her most of the time. Brain and Spencer are such good friends and I just love Jennifer to pieces. She is such a wonderful, kind and loving friend. She is selfless, an amazing mama and loves to be around people and make you feel good. We love our Murphy family!
Jonny has started smiling so much and its the best. She is so cute and ticklish which makes it fun! The girls love making her laugh and she smiles a lot during the day just when she sees different people. She
The girls Face Timed with Grandma and Grandpa Ellingson and they read them books one evening. It was fun for them and nice for me to be able to make dinner in peace :)
Spencer's hair is getting soooo long because he can't cut it with all the barbershops closed down with the coronavirus. So we borrowed some clippers and he went to town. He first shaved the sides and had a pretty sweet mullet and then just shaved his whole head. It was pretty funny!
We had a nice Memorial Day up on our roof with neighbors. The girls got in the swimming pool for a bit which was fun! We have also been doing lots of crafts. Charley and Bergen have been making charms for their charm bracelet and making sand creations with the sand Bergen got for her birthday. I made a fort the other day and let the girls watch a show in the fort. They loved it! Then they each made up their own story to tell each other and took turns sitting on the chair and telling a story.
We also went to the beach again which was so fun! I think we will start to do it every Saturday since nothing else is open! :)

May happenings and Mother's Day

5.27.2020

We are still in quarantine and social distancing mode. We have not been leaving the house for much and only go out for necessities. The playgrounds, museums, library and other buildings are all closed so really the only place I can actually take the girls is up on our roof, Prospect Park or the playground near us, Stroud, has a small playing field that the girls like to play in. It has been hard to stay inside so much and not be able to go to playgrounds when we want but the girls are doing so well with all this virus stuff. Lenny's favorite thing to say is, "because the coronavirus" and it's pretty cute! Right now in May, more than 1.7 million people in the United States have gotten the corona virus and 100,000 people have died form it. Worldwide, 5.4 million people got he virus! It's so crazy. We took advantage of the beaches opening up (not in NYC) but in Long Island and went there one Saturday. It was so great!! Other than that, Charley is still doing online school, I am doing a little schooling with Bergen (though we have slacked off a lot) and letters/numbers with Lenny. Spencer is still working from home and his company just told him that he can continue to work from home till the end of the year! We were supposed to go to Cabo for his President's Club May 14-19 but it was cancelled. We were so bummed but instead that night I made him a Mexican dinner and we can fruit cabobs, tacos and ate dinner on the floor in our swimsuits. The girls loved it!:)
My dear friend Sharra moved away and so we sneaked in one last run over the Brooklyn Bridge with her. It was so fun to run with these ladies as we have done so many times before in the past. We ran 12 miles that day and were able to talk, cry, laugh and have fun. Gosh, I miss running with friends! I am really going to miss the Grow family. They are one of my dearest and closest friends. Our kids got along so well and Spencer and Nate were good friends too. I love it when your whole family gets along with another family so well. Sharra was such a great and loving friend. There were many times that she would help me when I had new babies at home and I always loved what she had to say about most anything. She is such a strong woman and a loving mama.
I was able to donate 600 ounces to the Milk Bank! It was so fun to be able to donate the milk I had pumped and it felt good to give it to someone in need. I pumped extra this time not knowing who I could give it to and after asking around to see if any close friends/family needed it, I donated all of it to the Milk Bank.
I had such a lovely Mother's Day with my family. Spencer picked up some beautiful roses for me and then two good friends dropped off roses as well. Pierre Lande and Sara Orlando. So sweet of them! Spencer made a yummy quiche for breakfast, let me take a nap, we played games, went to Stroud to see our favorite friends, the Murphys and then we had a yummy chicken dinner. I got a Kitchen Aid and so of course had to make my first batch of cookies in it!! I love it and it will be so nice to make bread in it since I have started making white sandwich bread and the kneading was killing my arms! I love these girls who call me mama and am so grateful for each of their sweet faces.
