Montreal for Memorial Day

5.30.2019

We were able to find a Home Exchange in Montreal for Memorial Day so we rented a car and went up there for the weekend. It was a fun getaway and on the way we had to stop at the Ben and jerry's factory for a tour and ice cream and at the cutest farm in Burlington. We actually stayed the night in Burlington for just one night and in the morning I went and picked up brunch at this cute cafe while Spencer swam with the older girls. Then we went to the farm which was amazing! I absolutely loved this farm! It just had a very real feel to it and everything was so legit and very non-monetary. There was cow milking, making a bracelet from sheeps wool, walking the sheep, picking up eggs that the chickens had laid, buying local cheese at the cheese shop and walking around to see the animals. The girls really liked it too!

When we got to Montreal we rented bikes and biked around the town on a bike path. We went to the market and bought some baguette, meat and cheese that we ate too which was yummy! We checked out the Notre Dame and went inside this year since last year we didn't get in. And we also went over to the Musical Swings like we had before but this year they weren't working which was a bummer so the girls just swung on them without the music. We visited the temple after going to a small ward on Sunday and ate lunch on the Temple Grounds and then later we hiked up to the lookout point where you can see all of Montreal and hung out there for the evening. It was a fun little getaway and the house we stayed at was really nice! The bathtub was HUGE and the girls put on their floaties to "swim" in the bathtub because it was so big. They also had an outdoor swimming pool but it was a little too cold to swim. The girls put on their suits and I think dipped in for just a second but got out because they were too cold.

End of May

I finished a project that I had been wanting to do for a while. I made window seats for all the windows in the dining room! The girls loved to sit on the one in the living room so I decided to do it for the dining room windows too. It turned out cute and I love the fabric that I chose. It matches our blue theme well :) The girls have a new favorite spot to sit and read now!

We had a handcraft fair with our homeschool group and it was so fun! We had it at the park and each child chose something to make and then bring to sell. Bergen made some cute coffee filter water color butterflies and Charley made some friendship bracelets! They turned out so cute and the girls loved selling their crafts and also buying other crafts from their friends.
