June- Father's Day and end of school

6.27.2018

June was a beautiful month! It was still spring weather and pretty cold for New York which I loved! It gets too hot in the summer months so the weather was perfect, not humid or too hot! We enjoyed spending time on our roof and doing lots of BBQ's. We celebrated Father's Day on Sunday but making Spencer breakfast in bed and then that night grilling some carne asasda. My Aunt Margo and her friend Kim were visiting so we had them for dinner too. Spencer and I celebrated the night before by going down to Gowanas and trying to play shuffleboard but they said it was a 4-5 hour wait! So we went to Pig Beach instead and got some yummy BBQ ribs and brisket and then we tried a new place that serve polish Pirogies. Afterward we treated ourselves to Ample Hills ice cream. It was a good night and we will be back for shuffle board another time. We sure do love Spencer! He is such a great father and so helpful. He doesn't sit around.. he is always helping with the kids, cooking, cleaning, laundry.. anything! He loves to play with the girls and take them outside when he runs errands. He's just the best!
Lenny girl turned 8 months! She is growing so fast... I feel like the newborn stage happened so fast! She is full on army crawling, eating tons and sleeping like a champ! She loves seeing new people and always flaps her hands up and down when she sees people or animals. One of her favorite people at church is Agatha. She is from Ghana and so loving to Lenny and always so happy. Lenny loves her so much!
Charley's last day of Pre-K was the last week in June. Her class sang an adorable song and then we went back to her classroom for awards. Charley got the mathematician and best writing award. We are so proud of her and all she did this year! It was fun to see her grow and learn from her teachers. We are going to miss her sweet teachers. Every Friday, we go out and get ice cream so the last day of school we took her good friend Penny with us and got ice cream. Twice a week we take Penny from school to her day care so it was fun to celebrate the last day with her. She is Charley's best friend from school and always super kind.

Camping at Moffitt Beach Campground

6.14.2018

We decided to take advantage of a 3 day weekend from school off and went upstate to camp. I researched a few campgrounds that had beachside campsites and found Moffitt Beach! It was perfect and we had our own private beach to play at. The girls loved playing on the sand and beach area. It was a bit cold since it was still middle of June but we had fun! We relaxed, played games in the tent, roasted marshmallows, made some yummy food and went on nature walks! The little town was cute and we went to a yummy bakery that had raspberry almond scones! So good we went twice. :) It was a fun camping vacation. The girls (Lenny included) slept really well when we were there. We have a huge 6 man tent so we were able to fit the pack-n-play in the tent which is a game changer!

Governors Island glamping and more

6.06.2018

Bergen finished her little mom preschool that we were doing. It was so fun to do once a week. Each month we would rotate who taught and we went through the letters in the alphabet. It was just three girls and they are all so sweet and fun. It was a perfect little mesh of girls. Spencer is too good to his girls and makes us special oatmeal just about every night. It is the best!! I could have it everyday! This particular day I was being fancy and added some fun toppings. The girls also got bunk beds!! They love them and they fit so well in their room. It's nice to have a little more space for Charley to sleep since her feet were touching the end of her toddler bed. We did a twin over full which I like so Bergen has extra room on the bottom and for when we have guests that come to visit.
Spencer and I (and Lenny) had a fun clamping trip over to Governors Island one day. My sweet friend Tatum watching the two older girls and we were able to take the ferry over to Manhattan and stay in these sweet glamping tents. It was so relaxing!! Even though we were still really close to the city, it felt like we were miles away. The company is called Collective Retreat and they took care of us so well. We had dinner that night and smores over the fire. The view was incredible of the Statue of Liberty and of the Manhattan skyline. The next morning we had breakfast and then had to head back for Bergen's ballet recital. It was such a relaxing and fun trip. I really loved it!!
Bergen had her last day of ballet so we could go and watch. We just love her teacher, Miss Charolette! She is so good with the girls and super warm and patient. Bergen loved doing ballet this year and was really good at it. She was always such a good listener and loved going "Little Bunny Hop Hop Hop" :)
Our Relief Society had a fun tea party themed activity. We met at the church had wore some ridiculous big hats and had brunch together. It was fun to chat with these ladies who I love and admire so much. I just love our ward and the people in it. It is such a unique and special ward.
