January and a trip to Catalina Island!

1.24.2018

January seemed like a long and cold month. I felt like it went on forever! But we made it through with lots of inside games, science experiments and book reading. I love that the girls like to read books. We go to the library every other week and check out new books which helps them stay interested in different books. They also got a science kit for Christmas so we have been trying out lots of new science experiments. Our sweet Lenny girl turned 3 months old! She is such a sweet baby. The first few months are a hard adjustment for everyone so I feel like we are slowly coming out of that. She is sleeping better at night (still in Mom and Dad's room) but giving me longer stretches at night which is nice. The girls just love her and entertain her all day. She is not a fan of her carseat or stroller but loves the Ergo carrier. We love that girl so much! Bergen started Ballet with Ms. Charolette and loves it! She has been wanting to start for such a long time and the day finally arrived! She got dressed in her ballet outfit in the morning and wore it till we left. She went right into class and didn't look back! She loves that class so much. Charley also started gymnastics! She really likes it too and she has great teachers who push her. It's been fun to watch them both.

My sister Danielle turned 40 this year and so we had a little celebration for her in California! She wanted to go to Catalina Island so most all of my sisters and Mom were able to have a little weekend getaway to be with her. It was really fun to be with family and have some sister/mom time! We did some hiking, window shopped, ate good food and played lots of games at night. Lenny was a champ on the airplane and during the vacation. One night we went around the table and said things we love about Danielle. She is really the best! She is compassionate, selfless, joyful, physically and mentally strong, pushes others to do their best and always happy/silly! She was the one who inspired me to start running and I love getting back together with her when we can and going on runs. I just love that sister of mine! Catalina Island was such a cute island! I loved it. It had the cutest shops, nicest people and some great beaches and hiking. The town itself is super small and everyone rides around golf carts. The church branch had 1 full time member and a Priesthood member comes over from Long Beach to do the service.
