The first 2 weeks as a family of 4!

5.31.2015

We made it 2 weeks as a family of 4 and it has been so much fun! It has actually gone a LOT smoother than I expected. Spencer was able to take some time off work and help me at home. He took Charley out a lot which was nice and it was cute to see their relationship grow! Charley now calls for "Dadda" when she wakes up in the morning and asks him to hold her all the time. They like to wrestle, play ring-around-the-rosies, and play on our bed non-stop. I love seeing them play together! Sweet Bergen is just a cute little peanut who sleeps lots and eats tons. She has been a really good baby so far and is sleeping so good at night, which has been a life-saver. Spencer will get up with Charley in the morning and let Bergen and I have a few more hours of sleep each morning. We are loving having a newborn in the house again and the sweet spirit she brings!
This girl is looking so BIG to me now that we have a tiny baby in the house! I went in to check on her during nap time and she looked so big and grown up to me... it was kind of sad.
I was face-timing with my sister the other day and nursing Bergen at the same time. Well her newborn diapers are still HUGE on her and so she started pooping and it was leaking out. I put my hand under her bum to catch the poop and then she started squirting more out! It was pretty funny and my sister took a pic of the action while it was happening! :) haha I love our faces!
Charley and I were able to go on a little date to the library. We brought some of her books back and checked out new ones! She loves going to the library and getting new books. It's the greatest thing ever because then she looks at those "new" library books for weeks on end until we get new ones. She just loves books.
Best buds playing all day
Out for our first family stroll as a family of 4! We walked around the block and stopped at this new grocery store to check it out. Sounds boring, but it was so nice to get out of the house and be with my little family.
I just love this little peanut!
And so does Charley. She loves pushing her in the swing and holding her. It's the sweetest!
I walked by Bergen in the swing one day and found Charley's doll next to her. I thought it was the cutest thing that Charley had put her doll by her sister.
I find selfies on my phone all.the.time now! She knows how to work that phone better than I do.
We went to the Prospect Park Zoo for Memorial Day Weekend and Charley loved it. It's a pretty small zoo but they have a farm animal part where you can pet and feed a lot of the animals. Charley thought it was so fun to feed the goats!
First bath for Bergen and she loved it! Which totally surprised me because Charley screamed the entire time for her first bath.
I love comparing both girls' newborn pictures. I think the first week of Bergen's life, she looked a lot like Charley.. but now she is already changing and her face is starting to fill out a lot more. Bergen is on the top and Charley is on the bottom in each picture.

May!

5.28.2015

Here is what we were up to the beginning of May, before Bergen was born. Charley's hair is getting curlier and curlier since it is getting so humid here. I love it! It is actually really long, but since it is so curly you can't tell. In the bath, it goes down to the middle of her back!
One of our favorite things this summer so far has been going to see the water fountain. Charley loves it since she can swing on the metal bar and watch the water. We also walked over to the Botanical Gardens one day and saw the cherry blosoms in full bloom. They are so pretty and one of my favorite times of the year!
Pretty Brooklyn Sunset
Stoop stopping for days! Whenever we go on walks, Charley loves stopping at each stoop and walking up the stairs and checking things out. It's pretty cute.
Spencer and I had a little date night pre-baby and to celebrate him working so hard. We went to a restaurant in Central Park called Tavern on the Green. It was really good food and a very fun ambiance. Afterward we took the subway to one of our favorite dessert places called Cones. It's a gelato infused ice-cream that is to die for!!
Pre-baby, there were a few of these tests that had to be done to make sure baby was growing and healthy. Charley usually came with me and did so well entertaining herself while I laid on the bed being monitored.
38 weeks!
Spencer took a half day few weeks ago and went to the park with us. It was so fun to have him there and play with Charley! We are so lucky that his work is so flexible and that he is able to take time off whenever to be with his family. Charley loves seeing him all day everyday.
We also finally made it to the Manhattan Children's Museum and it was amazing!! Charley loved it and Spencer and I loved watching Charley. It was so fun seeing her huge smile as she went from each exhibit and tried out different places. Her favorite was the bus she rode in and could steer! She loves buses and all transportation right now.. especially tractors!
Just a few pictures of our every-day life. Chalk drawing, grocery shopping, park visiting, and more stoop stopping.
Spencer and Charley have gone on a few bike rides and Charley loves it! They go down to the park and ride around. Last time they stopped at this pond that has ducks and turtles and Charley loved it.
I love that Charley loves to sit on my lap when I am sewing! She helps me sometimes by pressing the buttons and helping the fabric go through!
Right before Bergen was born, our wonderful neighbor offered to watch Charley so we could sneak away for one more date night! She sent us this picture while we were gone of Charley making herself right at home! For our date night we went into Chinatown and Spencer let me get a manicure while he walked around and got some cheap fresh produce. Then we went to this dim sum place called Nom Wah Tea Parlor that had amazing reviews. It was really good food too! We got lots of things to try out and our favorite were the fried dumplings. It was so nice to go out one last time and enjoy each other!
So happy we got to Skype with this missionary on Mother's Day! He gets home in August and I am so proud of him for serving a mission. He is the most positive and optimistic person I know.
Mother's Day
It is starting to get really hot here so a few weeks ago I made a mini pool with a tupperware that I had. I filled it with water and gave Charley a few toys and she was in heaven!
Chubby baby feet selfie!
