Arizona

For Spencer's work we took a little weekend trip to Scottsdale, Arizona! It was so relaxing and fun. Charley was so good on the trip and hardly ever fussed. We relaxed by the pool, Spence went golfing and I got a massage. It was divine. We also went to an NFL game which was pretty cool. It was a bit noisy for Charley but she did pretty good during the game and even fell asleep during one part! She is a champ!

Charley's face when the fans were going wild when their team scored:)
Fun in the sun
love her tiny toes and feet!

We had so much fun this last weekend in Washington visiting my parents and sisters! Spencer was able to go hunting with my dad and I was able to spend time with my mom and sisters and make some fun crafts! We loved being there! I saw some high school friends too which was a lot of fun to meet up with them. One of my best friends, Kate, had her baby only 2 weeks before Charley. Her and Lila are already best friends!:)

 Hunting with Bart!

Charley's cousins love her!
Sydney was such a big help while they were here!
Leatham was so cute! He made Charley a balloon headband! :)
Spencer going hunting with the boys!

Making a fun burlap Halloween table runner with the girls! They were so easy and fun to make!

Love these boys so much!

Colorado!

Spencer, Charley and I traveled to Colorado this last weekend. It was an 8 hour drive from Salt Lake so not too bad. Charley was a champ in the car and hardly fussed at all! It's so nice having a baby that likes her car seat and car rides! We went to visit Spencer's Grandpa, Aunt and Uncle and my sister Sarah and her family. It was so great to see family one last time before we move! It was my first time meeting his Grandpa. He is such a sweet man! I loved getting to know him better and listen to his stories from way back when. We stayed at his Aunt Barb and Uncle Dave's house and it was great being with them. They are such a loving, caring and spiritually strong family! You know when you meet someone and afterward think to yourself "I want to be like them when I grow up". Well that is Dave and Barb. They have 11 kids and have been through it all! Their house is welcoming and warm. They love to entertain. Barb is the best cook there is! On Monday I swear she was in the kitchen from 8am till 5pm! She was cooking up a storm, making pies and pulled pork sandwiches for dinner, kneading dough, canning pears, cleaning, doing dishes! She gets up at 5am to swim and then is back in time to say bye to her kids who leave to 6am for Seminary and then she is nonstop till night time! It was really amazing and really made me what to be like that someday. Such a good example!!
In Barb's kitchen she has a sign that says, "There is always room for one more". I LOVE this and hope to one day be the family that is so welcoming, kind and loving!

After a few days there, we went down to Erie to visit my sister and her cute family. She moved there from Utah a few months ago and is just loving it! She fell in love with Colorado and the country feel, yet still close to Denver and a big city. We had the afternoon to spend with them before we hit the road, so we drove to Boulder, walked Pearl Street and ate at this yummy pasta place. I think I ate like 5,000 calories in just my pasta dish, but it was sooo good! :)

I just adore these kids! It was fun for Charley to meet her super awesome cousins! They all have such sweet personalities!

We miss the Rowberry's so much! It was so fun having them close when they lived in Utah. But I am so glad that they are loving their new place, home and CO life!

do you miss it?

I have gotten this question a lot since I decided not to go back to teaching this year. I decided to stay home with our baby girl and I absolutely LOVE it! For some reason, before I had Charley I thought I would be bored out of my mind and just pictured myself sitting at home staring blankly into space with a baby on my lap... hmm not sure why I thought this, because this hasn't even came close to happening once! We are busy ALL. DAY. LONG! Really, though I have loved staying home with Charley and just being mom. I haven't really even had time to think about teaching and my little firsties.
Here is what I did yesterday with my little sidekick...

7:30am Charley wakes up and eats and then has an hour of awake time. During this time we practice tummy time (not her fav), I read my scriptures to her and she lays on her back while I talk to her.
8:30am- She is out like a light for 2ish hours. I usually nap with her (don't judge) and we wake up around 10:30am.
10:30am- I feed Charley again and then we get bundled up, I strap her in her car-seat and put it on my BOB stroller (best purchase I have made) and I go for a run. She usually stares at me huffing and puffing for a bit and then falls asleep in her stroller.
12:00- Sometimes if I'm lucky Charley is still asleep when we get back from my run so I can jump in the shower real quick and get ready for the day.. if she is awake I have to wait till 2:00  (again no judging that I get ready for the day a 2pm:)
1:30- I feed Charley and then we are off to run errands, grocery shop, get gas and a Jamba of course!

4:30pm- another feeding (this time in the car) with the blanket covering the window and then we are off to H & M for some shopping! :) while she sleeps in the baby bjornn.

We have another 7:30pm and 9:00pm feeding and then she is down for the night! Charley usually sleeps an hour after each feeding for about an hour.. so she has about 5 naps a day! She is a champion sleeper and is starting to sleep about 9-10 hours at night!
So in answer to the question of missing school.. not so much right now. I am just enjoying our sweet baby girl and the time I get to spend with her!
